The Council's area spans 201,000 square kilometres – almost three times the size of Tasmania – making Council's operational footprint one of the largest in the Northern Territory.Roper Gulf Regional Council is currently seeking a suitably qualified and highly experienced professional for the position of Project Manager based in Katherine, NT. This position is responsible for leading the project management team and managing the projects in line with Council's business and strategic plans, building and maintaining community infrastructure which positively contributes to resident needs and aspirations.In this role, you will plan, execute and finalise projects to ensure that Council's quality projects are successfully delivered, completed according to strict timelines, within budget restraints and in accordance with contractual obligations. You will need solid planning and organisational skills whilst maintaining a high-level attention to detail.To be successful in this role, you will have:Diploma, Advanced Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering / project management / business management / construction management or similar discipline, with a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in building-related projects and construction management.Demonstrated experience in managing complex infrastructure projects, management of contracts, budgets and contractors.Demonstrated experience in interpreting legislation, standards and policies to ensure that work is performed according to directives issued by clients and in accordance with any legislative requirements.Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate and interact with stakeholders, suppliers, clients and the general public in a courteous manner.Advanced computer skills with demonstrated experience in using AUTOCAD or similar Microsoft Project and drafting packages.By taking on this role, you will receive an attractive remuneration package and great benefits, including a base salary of $136,500.00 per annum along with vehicle benefit and subsidised accommodation.
