We have been distributing natural and organic grocery, health, and beauty products from homegrown and international suppliers to health food stores, pharmacies, online health sites, grocery, and specialty shops across Australia for over 27 years.
Our business is currently spread over 3 Sunshine Coast locations (Kunda Park HQ & Forest Glen) and employs 180 of the best.
We are embarking on an exciting new chapter as we relocate our warehouse operations to a purpose-built facility at Aura, Caloundra.
We seek a full-time Project Workplace Health & Safety Officer, for a 12-18 month contract, to oversee safety protocols of our current operations; ensure compliance during implementation of the project as well as create and deliver a safety framework for the new warehouse and operations.
The Project Workplace Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for managing all health and safety aspects of our business.
This includes ensuring a safe working environment, developing safety procedures, coordinating training sessions, and ensuring compliance against safety regulations at our current locations, during the move as well as in the working environment once operations begin at the new site.
Reporting to the Head of People, Culture & Safety, the Project Workplace Health and Safety Officer will join a dynamic People & Culture team and work collaboratively with the Project Manager and Senior Management team to maintain our excellent safety record and support a WH&S culture both during operations as well as throughout the progression of the project, to completion.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain and build on the current safety procedures and culture using our current WH&S Management system and framework.Maintain incident reporting and tracking systems, ensuring immediate action is taken for safety concerns.Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of health and safety plans specific to the warehouse relocation project, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.Work closely with 3rd party providers as required to ensure Unique can deliver on safety requirements.Conduct safety audits and risk assessments of the new warehouse site and the moving process.Coordinate and deliver safety training for all team members involved in the relocation.New site inductions - liaising with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure safety measures are adhered to throughout the move.Conduct post-relocation reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards in the new warehouse.Skills & Qualifications: Minimum qualification - Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.Proven experience in workplace health and safety at an Officer level, ideally in a warehouse environment.Strong understanding of workplace safety laws and regulations regarding warehousing, logistics, and construction.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Demonstrated experience in project management or large-scale operational changes.Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics best practices is highly desirable.Dedication to maintaining excellent company culture through effective change management.Business acumen and a strategic mind.Our business hours are Monday to Friday, 6am to 5pm.
A minimum of 38 hours will be worked within the hours of 7am to 5pm (Monday to Friday) spread across all sites.
Hours will be negotiated at the time of contract offer.
