SLR is organised by five Service Lines, comprising over 20 specialist technical disciplines. As our business continues to expand, we have an opportunity for a Project Support Officer to join our Land & Water Service Line, focusing  on Australian operations (location flexible). Reporting directly to the Service Line Operations Manager (SLOM) for Land & Water, you will play a critical role in helping to ensure the financial success of the Service Line. You will provide reports and data to facilitate the effective management of the team and  work collaboratively with Project Managers and Project Directors on a daily basis to ensure the health of project budgets, cashflow, and pipeline data. Through your oversight of the portfolio of projects in Land & Water, you will have your finger on the pulse of the overall financial health of the team and work closely with the SLOM to manage issues and realise opportunities. Key Responsibilities Job tasks and responsibilities
As a self-starter who can work independently and proactively, you are a highly organised person with great inter-personal skills who can easily establish trust and rapport with your colleagues. You will be a highly visible, instrumental member of the Land & Water team, responsible for: Working closely with the team to achieve a shared purpose and financial  success. Understanding SLR's financial management systems (Deltek, Tableau) and processes and sharing this expertise and knowledge across the team Providing management reports and financial data to the SLOM and Technical Discipline Managers on a regular basis Using Deltek to provide Project Managers with data to help ensure project budgets are continually monitored and any issues managed within the project governance framework Facilitating and overseeing the timely completion of project invoices in accordance with SLR's accounting calendar Maintaining oversight of Land & Water's work in progress (WIP) position and working closely with Project Managers to maintain a strong WIP and cashflow position Facilitating project set ups in accordance with SLR's authorisation processes (at times this may involve the preparation of proposal documentation for review) Managing the Land & Water pipeline data and working with Project Managers and Bid Managers to keep records up to date and accurate Building professional knowledge by keeping up to date with specialist area trends and best practices Providing suggestions for continuous improvement, offering ideas around how to improve processes and policies to deliver business success Providing pragmatic problem solving in a fast-paced consulting environment Skills and experience
Ideally you can demonstrate working at a senior level within a consulting environment and have ambition to keep progressing your career by challenging yourself, as well as having: Relevant tertiary qualification or comparable experience in a similar role Exceptional analytical and organisational skills Comfortable with numbers and accounting systems A solutions-focussed mindset, with a flexible and adaptable approach to problem solving An eye for detail and ability to complete tasks in set timeframes Effective communication skills and a friendly, approachable, can-do attitude with colleagues and clients Competence in financial control and project support tasks, with an interest in project management Our benefits at SLR  include.
