Business Enabling Services Group / ICT Division / Internal Services Branch APS 4 ($76,972 - $87,851) | Ongoing | Full-time Canberra, ACT ABOUT THE TEAM The ICT Projects team is responsible for delivering high-quality ICT solutions and services to support the strategic objectives and operational needs of the department. The team manages a portfolio of ICT projects, ranging from infrastructure upgrades to business system enhancements, in accordance with the department's ICT strategy and governance framework.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The APS 4 Project Support Officer provides administrative and technical support to the ICT Projects team, under the direction of the Project Manager. The role contributes to the planning, delivery and evaluation of ICT projects, ensuring compliance with the department's policies, procedures and standards. The role also liaises with internal and external stakeholders, including business owners, vendors and contractors, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
DUTIES Monitor and track project progress, issues and risks, and escalate any concerns to the Project Manager in a timely manner. Prepare, maintain, and update project documentation such as project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, status reports and closure reports. Coordinate and attend project meetings, workshops and other events, and prepare minutes, agendas and action items. Provide administrative support to the ICT Projects team, such as organising travel, booking venues, ordering supplies and maintaining records. Perform quality assurance activities, such as testing, reviewing and validating project deliverables, and ensuring adherence to the department's ICT standards and guidelines. Support the Project Manager with the procurement and contract management of ICT vendors and contractors, and ensure compliance with the department's procurement framework and financial delegations. Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as business owners, end users, technical staff, vendors and contractors, and maintain positive and professional relationships. Participate in the continuous improvement of the ICT Projects team's processes, tools and methodologies, and contribute to the development and implementation of the department's ICT strategy and governance framework. Undertake research and analysis on ICT trends, best practices and emerging technologies, and provide input and feedback to the Project Manager and the ICT Projects team. Perform other duties as required by the Project Manager and the ICT Projects team.
