Project Supervisor – Tank Restoration & Structural Steel Projects FIFOAbout Us:We are a leading provider of large-scale industrial solutions, specialising in tank restoration, structural steel remediation, and surface protection projects.
Operating throughout the Goldfields region of Western Australia, we deliver complex works including structural and mechanical services, ultra-high-pressure (UHP) water blasting, abrasive blasting, poly application, and industrial painting.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Project Supervisor to lead diverse teams, including paint blasters, UHP operators, riggers, and boilermaker/welders, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
About the Role:As the Project Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, ensuring activities are carried out safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
This includes overseeing mechanical works, rigging, welding, surface preparation, and coating teams.
You will be responsible for tasks such as removing and replacing tank internals, structural steel remediation, and supervising UHP water blasting, abrasive blasting, and coating applications.
This role is crucial for ensuring seamless collaboration among trades and the successful completion of each project phase.
Key Responsibilities: Project Supervision:Oversee the cutting, removal, and replacement of tank internals and structural steel components.Manage and coordinate teams, including UHP operators, abrasive blasters, painters, riggers, and boilermakers.Supervise the blasting and coating of tank internals and externals, ensuring high-quality outcomes.Safety Leadership:Enforce compliance with all safety standards, site-specific requirements, and Australian regulations.Promote a strong safety culture by conducting toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety audits.Monitor site practices to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.Coordination and Scheduling:Plan and coordinate activities to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to align expectations and deliverables.Quality Assurance:Ensure all work meets project specifications, Australian Standards, and established quality requirements.Conduct regular inspections, promptly addressing non-conformances to maintain project integrity.Provide clear guidance and support to the workforce, fostering a positive, collaborative, and productive environment.Ensure time sheets for all crew members are completed accurately and submitted on time.Encourage professional development and maintain strong communication within the team.Resource Management:Allocate and manage labour, materials, and equipment to optimise project efficiency.Work with project management and coordinate the procurement of materials and equipment to ensure availability when needed.Monitor resource usage to minimise waste and maintain cost-effectiveness.Anticipate project needs and adjust resource plans to prevent delays.Reporting & Documentation:Maintain accurate site logs, progress reports, and safety documentation.Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on progress, challenges, and solutions.Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date, organised, and ready for audits or reviews.Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience supervising industrial or construction projects, including structural, mechanical, and surface preparation works.Preferred but not essential: Experience managing UHP water blasting, abrasive blasting, coating applications, and poly application.Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements in industrial and mining environments, including Australian Standards.Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate clearly with teams and stakeholders.Relevant trade qualification in a related field (e.g., boilermaking, welding, or similar) is highly desirable.Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and resource management to meet project deadlines.Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to remote mine sites on a 3:1 roster.To help fast track investigation, please include here any other relevant details that prompted you to report this job ad as fraudulent / misleading / discriminatory.
