About the Ngaanyatjarra Council
Welcome to Ngaanyatjarra Lands, a vibrant tapestry of culture and community nestled within the vast beauty of the Australian desert. Home to approximately 2000 Yarnangu (Ngaanyatjarra people) across 11 unique communities, our council is dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich heritage spanning over 10,000 years and 250,000 square kilometres.
Established in 1981, the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group (NCG) represents the interests of the Ngaanyatjarra People across the 11 communities in the Central Desert region of Western Australia. Employing in excess of 450 people, NCG provides a wide range of services, including health, utilities, construction, employment, community development, shops, roadhouses, art centres and land services. It is one of the largest and most successful Indigenous organisations in the country.

The Opportunity: We are offering a unique and rewarding opportunity for a Project Supervisor – Construction to join our team and contribute to the development and enhancement of critical infrastructure within remote communities. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
As a Project Supervisor, you will be responsible for interpreting project plans, managing material requirements, and preparing detailed scopes of work for various trades. You will work closely with project managers, field teams, and contractors to ensure seamless communication and coordination across all stages of the project. This is a hands-on role where you will play a key part in managing project documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and resolving any challenges that arise on-site.
This position offers the opportunity to work on projects that have a direct and lasting impact on remote communities, improving infrastructure and providing essential services to those in need. You will have the chance to travel to these communities, offering a unique experience of working in remote locations while making a real difference in the lives of local residents.

About you : We are looking for a proactive, organised, and experienced Project Supervisor – Construction who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering quality projects in remote communities. This is an office-based role located in the Perth CBD, with the exciting opportunity to oversee and coordinate construction projects in remote communities across the region. As part of this role, travel to remote communities is a requirement for at least one week per month. You should be comfortable with this level of travel and the unique challenges and rewards of working in these locations.
You have a strong background in construction, with proven experience in reading and interpreting plans, managing materials, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects. Your ability to coordinate multiple trades, keep projects on track, and ensure compliance with regulations is key to your success in this role.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Builders Registration, or a related field, or have equivalent hands-on experience in the construction industry. A solid understanding of health and safety regulations, industry standards, and construction methodologies is essential. Experience in remote community projects or infrastructure development is highly desirable, though not essential.
You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in ensuring projects are executed to the highest standards, on time and within budget. Your excellent communication and teamwork skills enable you to collaborate effectively with project managers, field teams, contractors, and local stakeholders. You are comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for managing the practical and logistical aspects of construction projects, even in challenging and remote settings.
You are a strong problem-solver, able to handle unexpected challenges with confidence, and you have a genuine passion for making a difference in the communities you serve.
