Working across 2 key markets, their solutions are in high demand both domestically and internationally.
Reflecting recent major project awards and a strong pipeline of further work, an immediate opportunity for a Project Planner/Scheduler has now been created.
Based in Sydney and reporting to the Project Director, the successful candidate will lead project planning activities for high-profile projects both in NSW and interstate, liaising with the broader Project Team to plan project activities and monitor project progress.
Working closely with PMs, Site Managers, Contract Managers, Engineering, clients, and suppliers, and with the support of international planning colleagues, they will also be involved during the sales process, working with bid management to secure a realistic schedule as well as tracking and reporting on site progress during delivery.
Specifically, you will: Work closely with the Project Core Team to develop a detailed baseline project time schedule based on key milestones and carry out updates for progress, delays, resources, productivity, and forecasts by gathering and analyzing the information. Identify constraints and dependencies between activities and reflect them in the project schedule. Develop a target-oriented time schedule narrative to elaborate and support the Project time schedule, whenever required by the Project. Take responsibility for the overall integrated schedule whenever required by the Project, such as integrating schedules from partners/suppliers and/or submitting the integrated schedule to the customer. Liaise with the Project Controller to achieve cost/schedule integration. Perform earned value analysis. Understand Project Requirements including contractual and commercial terms and implement the requirements in time scheduling and reporting. Support the Project Manager to obtain Customer Approval on the baseline time schedule and in Project Monthly Report preparation (Internal/External). Maintain progress updates in the project schedule and flag deviations for project management action and support decision-making. Flag any risks and opportunities to the Project Manager in terms of scheduling, progress reporting, delays, and resource allocation. Ensure coordination and alignment between the Project Core Team in terms of planning. Participate in change order impact analysis and support substantiation and negotiation. Perform forensic delay analysis and establish entitlements for Extension of Time Claims. Liaise with the Site Manager to ensure the schedule/progress report reflects the actual site conditions and maintain accurate records. Liaise with the Test Manager for schedule updates and progress monitoring. Facilitate Project Core team schedule reviews. About you: In addition to your bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or similar, you will have demonstrable experience using MS Project to plan/schedule large-scale engineering or construction CapEx projects.
In addition, you:
Have a flair for and interest in gaining an understanding of technical topics relating to high-tech industrial automation. Demonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees within a very diverse and international company. Exhibit proficiency in time management. Have high attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly. Possess excellence in communication (both verbal and written). Can demonstrate proficiency in handling multiple tasks and work well under pressure with a sense of both urgency and thoroughness. Are professional, positive, pro-active, and energetic. Show a self-driven and independent working attitude. Have a high degree of computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Office. Are able to set and meet goals with sincere care for others and an overwhelming desire to win and to be part of a winning team. Are open to some interstate travel. (Experience in engineering or construction, preferably within Baggage Handling Systems, warehouse automation, parcel sortation, or high-value automated manufacturing systems would be highly advantageous.
