We have been engaged to provide a Project & Operations Lead to enable our client to continue their growth and further cement their reputation as an expert in the rotating equipment sector.
This is a new position which has been created due to strong growth, achieved through exceptional service delivery across a range of rotating equipment.
The client often faces unique engineering challenges and therefore requires a high-calibre individual to devise and then deliver outstanding solutions to these challenges.
They have had a busy start to the year with multiple projects in pipeline both in Australia and overseas.
Based in Perth and reporting to the State Manager, you will be responsible for providing operational direction (delivery of jobs and projects) as well as engineering solutions for a range of rotating equipment across the oil & gas and power generation sectors.
We anticipate the role will require around 20-30% site travel and you will be the technical focal point for the client across a portfolio of major projects.

Typical duties of the initial role include:
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist mechanical engineering support for multiple simultaneous projects.
Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs and develop tailored solutions.
Deliver technical field-based solutions across a variety of rotating equipment such as compressors, turbines, and pumps.
Assist clients with planned and unplanned maintenance scopes.
Provide input into developing work scopes and provide technical assistance for tender opportunities.
Conduct boroscope inspections, fault-finding analysis, and condition monitoring for gas turbines and other rotating equipment.
Lead project teams, ensuring timely and cost-effective project management.
Mentor and train junior team members to foster a culture of learning and growth.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 8-10 years' hands-on experience with large rotating equipment ideally to an OEM level.
In addition, you will be/have:
Technical Skills:
Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or similar.
Strong understanding of aeroderivative or heavy-duty gas turbines; with knowledge of axial and centrifugal compressors and auxiliaries advantageous.
Strong understanding and experience of performing routine and specialist maintenance procedures such as boroscope inspections or top case removals.
A desire to go above and beyond in delivering a high-quality service to clients.
Experience with rotating equipment field installation, commissioning, and testing.
Development or Technical Review of Engineering Reports.
Knowledge in machinery alignment best practices.
Proficiency in failure investigation.
Competence in machinery troubleshooting from trends/data.
Competence in Oil and Gas Process piping/flange management for connected machinery.
Understanding Machinery Schematics and Oil & Gas Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (PI&D).
Knowledge of key engineering standards related to general mechanical & rotating equipment (API, ASME, AS, etc.).
Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) Development and Implementation.
Creation of Job Work Instructions for Field Team to execute.
