The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research.About the roleYou will report to the Project Manager of the Victorian Audit of Surgical Mortality (16T32TVASM). The audit is supported and funded by Safer Care Victoria and includes both public and private hospitals. You will help facilitate the activities of the audit. As well as administrative duties, this will require effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders, analysis and interpretation of data collected by the audit, participation in research activities, and the drafting of reports and manuscripts as needed. Given the nature of the data being collected, confidentiality will be required.The role is full time 1.0 FTE and is of limited duration. The role is being offered on a max term basis because it is tied to Australian government funding relating to the Victorian Audit of Surgical Mortality ending 30 June 2025, an extension to this would be dependent on continued funding.Skills and experienceAs the ideal candidate you will:Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent majoring in health scienceUnderstand study design, research methods, and ability to analyse and interpret dataBe competent in reading and understanding scientific/medical research.Have the ability to use Microsoft Office software, spreadsheet, database and reference management software.Have excellent verbal and written communication skillsAt our organisation, we are proud to have a positive impact on improving health outcomes in the community.
