This position focuses on strengthening workforce capability, enhancing member engagement and advancing education and training initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
growing workforce capacity and capability: contributing to initiatives that develop the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research workforce's skills and expertisemembership engagement: leading strategies to drive membership growth, retention and engagement, with a focus on increasing opportunities for members to connect, network and access development resourcesmanaging member platforms: overseeing the member online hub and coordinating virtual and face-to-face networking events to meet the diverse needs and priorities of memberssupporting education and training: contributing to the development and continuous improvement of a learning eco-system that includes online learning platforms, the Learning Management System (LMS) and professional development training programscontinuous quality improvement: playing an active role in the development, implementation and evaluation of CQI processes to ensure the effectiveness, quality and cultural safety of workforce strategies, programs and servicesbuilding relationships: fostering both internal and external relationships to enhance the Institute's research, education and training impactsreporting and analysis: providing regular reports on workforce initiatives, membership activities and CQI outcomes.What you bring We're seeking a candidate who:
MUST be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent as this is a genuine occupational qualification under section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic)understands community needs: comprehensive knowledge of the health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with experience in project management, education, training, event management and/or related roles in community, government, or NGO sectorsis organised and results-oriented: proven ability to manage projects effectively, meet deadlines under pressure and deliver high-quality outcomes while ensuring a culture of safetyexcels in communication: outstanding ability to build relationships and engage with diverse stakeholders, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, with strong networking and communication skills (both written and oral)commits to cultural safety: a deep commitment to ensuring a culturally safe and respectful environmentis a team player: able to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to team dynamics and achieving collective goalsAdditional requirements: a Working with Children and Vulnerable Peoples Check, relevant qualifications (or progress towards them), and flexibility for occasional travel or out-of-hours work.
