We are seeking a dedicated Professional Projects Officer to join our dynamic team at the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium, where your expertise will help cultivate knowledge and preserve our unique flora.
What You'll Do: Curatorial Excellence: Process and curate plant specimens with precision and care.Research Support: Assist in ground-breaking research, knowledge and horticultural activities, contributing to innovative projects that expand our use and understanding of South Australian plants.Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with the Senior Scientific Officers, Botanists, Curators and expert Horticulturalists to enhance our knowledge and our knowledge management strategies.Grants & Growth: Engage in grant activities and projects that support our mission to maintain and expand our collections and use of our collections and knowledge.Why Join Us? Contract: Contract till 31 July 2025
Essential Qualifications: Appropriate degree in Botanical or Horticultural Science or equivalent is essential.
Special Conditions: May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.Current class "C" driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.May require some intra/interstate travel and some out of hours may be required.Demonstrated ability to work alone and be self-reliant.Will be required to work at all BGSH botanic garden estates.Maintain Senior First Aid Certificate and apply first aid as required.This role has functions pertaining to working with children and is prescribed under the Child Safety (Prohibited Person) Act 2016 as requiring a Working With Children Check (WWCC).
