1x position based in Warrnambool and 1x position based in AraratPart-time (0.2 FTE) and Fixed term until 30 June 2026HEW 5 $80,199 - $89,950 + 17% Superannuation (pro rata, part time)About the role: The Project Officer, Indigenous Health is responsible for supporting the Indigenous Health academic team to develop the cultural safety of future health professionals and to attract and support First Nations students into the School of Medicine at Deakin University (including First Nations students in Medicine, Optometry and Medical Imaging courses). The role is also responsible for supporting the cultural safety of students, community and partners.
In line with special measure provisions in Section 12 of the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act (2010), the University will only be accepting applications for this position from people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. As a Project Officer, you will: Coach, guide and support team members as needed to deliver against individual, team and University goals and recognise the importance of teamwork and of effective communication amongst team members and build rapport within immediate team in ways that are respectful and inclusive of others.Role model professional and ethical behaviours. Consult with available sources to gather relevant information and seek the expertise and advice of other people as appropriate.Clarify expectations and respond promptly to customer requests, queries, or complaints to ensure customer needs are met to agreed standards and timelines and seek to understand the audience by increasing knowledge of a diverse range of communication needs.Presents information in a clear and structured way and communicates concisely by focusing on key messages and checks that messages delivered are understood and tailor communication style and message according to audience needs.Actively seek to maintain positive relationship and support team members in times of pressure and change and build productive relationships with a diverse range of existing stakeholders and actively seek to maintain positive relationships. To be successful, you'll have: Completion of a Degree without subsequent relevant work experience; orCompletion of an Associate Diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; orAn equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/trainingExperience in administration and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies and procedures.Experience in operating in a high-pressure diverse environment, involving face to face, phone and written issue.Here's how to apply:  Please submit your updated resume and a short cover letter outlining your skills and experience.
