Location: Hybrid - World Square, CBD and WFHCommencement Date: Monday, 2 December 2024Closing Date: Monday, 11 November 2024Capacity: Full-Time, Temporary (7-month parental leave cover)About the RoleThe Project Officer is responsible for managing multiple capital works (up to 10 projects or $100m at a time in various stages of development) programmes from concept development to project completion; ensuring that projects are managed in accordance with the standards set by Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS), safety, timelines, budgets and legislative requirements.The Project Officer is required to perform tasks that include but are not limited to:working closely with the Program Specialist in planning, design and delivery of capital works projects on time and within budgetdeveloping innovative and effective solutions for the design and delivery of school capital works projects including new schools, expansion and refurbishment of existing schoolsassessing School Work Requests against the SCS criteria and the SCS' Strategic Planmanaging stakeholder engagement, expectations and communication with schools and local communities, councils and authorities to develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationshipsprocuring and managing consultants to plan, develop and implement works ensuring the projects are delivered to budget with appropriate management of risks, safety and relevant legislative frameworksworking with the SCS Asset Maintenance team to ensure the smooth transition of new assets for ongoing maintenance in accordance with relevant legislation and maintenance planningimproving school buildings and facilities by ensuring that capital works advice is timely; and addresses needs that are genuine, represent good value for money and are affordabledeveloping realistic project programs that are achievable and aligned with schools' operational requirementsproviding regular reports and meetings on capital projectsmanaging the end-to-end capital-building projectsall other duties as listed in the role description and ad-hoc activities as assigned by the manager.Why Work for Sydney Catholic SchoolsIn joining Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS), you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW, with a unified vision and shared resources, encompassing over 145 schools and over 74,000 students.
