The City of Parramatta is looking for an enthusiastic Project Officer to support and lead key projects within our City Strategic Planning Team.

About the Role In this important role, you will support the advocacy, inception and delivery of priority projects that align with our global city vision Parramatta 2050 .You'll work cross-functionally to proactively solve challenges and manage project delivery, ensuring that our strategic goals are met.
On a daily basis, this role will see you: Working within an interdisciplinary team to support Senior Project Officers and Leaders in delivering high-quality projects and strategic programs.
Applying a creative thinking mindset and problem-solving skills to a broad range of scenarios.
Assisting in the delivery of major projects in a way that reflects Council's values of customer focus, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.
Identifying funding opportunities and projects consistent with Council's vision and strategic direction.
Researching, interpreting, and drafting policy papers, presentations, and other documents with guidance from Senior Project Officers and Leaders.
Professionally engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to help develop strategic networks for the City Strategic Planning team.
Coordinating and presenting management reports, including financial and service standard information, with significant support from Senior Project Officers and Leaders.
Assisting with impact measurement initiatives to track progress against strategic documents.
Applying best practice research skills to gather and interpret information on various topics.
Monitoring performance metrics to identify risks and enable proactive mitigation strategies.
About You We're looking for someone who is not only experienced but also passionate about making a difference.
You will bring: A tertiary qualification in communications, advocacy, policy, design, planning, innovation, project management, or a related discipline.
At least 1 year of experience in identifying and proactively solving complex problems.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and developing strategic documents and policies.
Demonstrated experience in delivering projects while managing resource parameters.
Proven ability to use insights to identify key strategic issues and future opportunities.
Solid project management skills, including effective planning, budgeting, and contract management.
Excellent written communication skills for diverse audiences, particularly in creating strategic documents.
Initiative and versatility in solving a range of complex problems through innovation and collaboration.
Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and balance competing priorities.
An engaging communication style with proven ability to build relationships, negotiate, and influence outcomes.
Confidence in problem-solving and decision-making, particularly in high-priority and sensitive situations.

What's on offer   We are offering an attractive remuneration from $101,563 to $111,820 plus 11.5% superannuation.
In addition, City of Parramatta also offer excellent employee benefits which include:  A range of flexible work arrangements including hybrid WFH arrangements (3 days in office, 2 from home).
14 weeks paid parental leave.
Access to Long Service Leave after 5 years.
Central Parramatta location (Public transport at our door, discounted parking).
