TMR Central Queensland Region:
With branches in Rockhampton, Mackay and Barcaldine and a site office in Emerald, the Transport and Main Roads Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Central Queensland Region (CQ Region) looks after 9076km of state-controlled roads and about 1510km of the National Road Network.
This role will contribute to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).
The CQ Region covers an area of about 604,824km2, approximately 34.9% of Queensland.
Its landscape ranges from beautiful coastal areas adjoining the Great Barrier Reef and rainforests to the rugged outback with breath-taking rock formations.
The region has an estimated residential population of 422,141 people.

The Role:
In the role of Project Officer, you will actively participate as a member of the Financial Controls Team in the provision of a range of financial and infrastructure project support activities to ensure the effective delivery of the District's QTRIP.
You will work closely with the Senior Finance Advisor providing advice and support to road infrastructure program and project managers and other staff contributing to the effective management of financial and project control functions to enable efficient and timely delivery of the road's infrastructure program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Undertake a range of program and project activities to enhance program development and project delivery of the district's Transport and Roads Investment Program.
• Scheduling of road projects in accordance with organisational business rules, procedures, and guidelines to meet the district's key performance indicators relative to delivery of Transport and Roads Investment Program.
• Provide procurement support, including advice, preparation of procurement documentation and assisting with the tender process related to delivery of the district's road infrastructure program of works.
• Provide contract administration support including the provision of contract establishment, preparation of progress payments, management of contract variations to budget for a variety of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
• Delivery of other financial services including accounts payable/receivable, and monthly reconciliations.
• Assist in the development of local work practices, to ensure compliance requirements are met and consistency of processes for efficient delivery of the Transport and Roads Investment Program.
• Use of a variety of software packages (SAP, 3PCM, Microsoft Excel) to manage the financial and delivery performance of the district's Transport and Roads Investment Program and Projects.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
