Victoria Police is seeking a Project Officer to support the successful delivery of new police stations over the next 18 months. This role will work within the Facilities Division of Victoria Police and report to the Project Director, Capital Build. The project officer will be assisting the following projects:
Facilities Division within Victoria Police plans, builds, and maintains police stations, buildings, and facilities throughout Victoria. Situated within the Capital works unit, this role reports directly to the Project Director and is a key member of the team. The successful candidate will be required to engage with Executive and operational level stakeholders.
Your duties will include: Managing the delivery of construction projects using an appropriate project management methodology.Identifying and managing project risks including maintaining a risk register.Preparing reports and papers such as weekly and monthly reports, ministerial and steering committee reports.Attending design and construction meetings and positively contributing to influence delivery of projects on time and within budget.Conducting regular site inspections and reporting on progress.Chairing and presenting in meetings to stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.Reporting on project budget, reviewing and reporting on expenditure, and assisting with contract management.Raising purchase orders and ensuring timely processing of invoices.Engaging effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to drive quality outcomes.Contributing to a positive work environment.As the successful applicant, you will have: Demonstrated experience in delivering capital works or major projects.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and ability to read and understand technical drawings and construction plans.Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, and effectively mitigating risks.Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in the use of Oracle Aconex, SharePoint, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project.Ability to engage with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders at all levels.Ability to work under pressure, including occasionally under tight timeframes.Ability to work autonomously, use your own initiative, and be self-motivated and driven.A strong commitment to Operational Health and Safety and awareness of working on a construction site.A strong commitment to Operational Infrastructure Department's strategy goals - supporting our people and embracing customer centricity, innovation and collaboration in our delivery of services.A current driver's licence is required to attend site visits.A construction induction card or willingness to obtain one.Relevant qualifications and/or professional accreditations in construction and/or project management is desired.Requirements and relevant information: One (1) x full-time, Fixed Term position to 30/06/2026 is available.This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.This position will be required to attend weekly and fortnightly site visits in Narre Warren and Clyde North and supports working from home for a maximum of two days a week.Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.Your application must include: ResumeCompleted application form – the word document (2.
