Multiple fixed-term opportunities are available The Schools Human Resource Division is seeking Project Officers to support the planning and administration of targeted workforce initiatives within the Pre-service teacher Projects and Initiatives team.
About Schools Workforce Group The Schools Workforce Group supports and strengthens our school's workforce and will drive the recruitment approach for thousands of new teachers joining the government school system.
The Schools Workforce group consolidates the critical work across the following areas:
Developing school workforce supply and demand strategies and initiativesSupporting the attraction and retention of teachers in Victorian government schoolsProviding high-quality HR and recruitment servicesProviding policy and employee relations advice.About the Role The team contributes to developing implementation for priority projects to support the teaching workforce. You will be responsible for preparing project plans, monitoring and reporting on project status, contributing to risk and issue management, establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, participating in and facilitating project meetings, preparing a range of project documents including business cases, contract administration, financial reporting, and project governance support for other investment decisions (e.g., contract variations).
Your duties will include: Preparing and reviewing project documentation including reports, plans, budgets, and briefing materials for senior management and stakeholdersOrganising, participating in, and facilitating project meetings, providing secretariat support for complex/contractual meetings, and following up on action itemsUndertaking research and analysis, and preparing advice to the Senior Project Officer and/or Manager and other staff on project-related matters including operational communications and consultation strategiesEstablishing and maintaining the project schedules and work breakdown structure including monitoring work against the baseline and reporting on statusEstablishing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders to create mutually beneficial partnerships essential to the success of the projectContributing to proactive risk and issue management, recommending options and solutions, maintaining the risk and issue register, and producing reports as requiredAssisting in the development and implementation of new and improved processes to support the delivery of project objectivesPerforming other project site and administration tasks as required.Qualifications and Experience The successful candidate will demonstrate experience and ability in:
Project implementation, including strong analytical, conceptual, and written communication skillsPlanning and managing timeframes under limited direction including being flexible and adaptable to changing prioritiesCollaborating and building relationships within the department, government, and with external stakeholdersPrevious experience with managing sensitive personnel data and contract managementConveying specialist concepts and policies to stakeholdersFostering an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative cultureRelevant tertiary qualification desirable but not requiredHow to apply Applicants are required to submit a CV and cover letter (max 2 pages for cover letter) summarising their skills, relevant experience, and suitability to the role in line with the duties, required capabilities, and the Key Selection Criteria.
