Project Officer Salary: $74,580 to $90,558 (Plus Superannuation)Ongoing roleUsual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)Usual work location: 1 Spring Street, Melbourne/remote (flexibility may be available)The Role The Project Officer is responsible for supporting and assisting the Senior Technical Accountant in providing technical accounting and tax advice, and developing, implementing and supporting financial and tax assurance activities including internal control and compliance frameworks, financial policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities include:
Support the Senior Technical Accountant with a range of activities associated with the delivery of accounting policy, compliance and tax requirementsResearch and support the Senior Technical Accountant to develop and provide authoritative technical financial expertiseAssisting with internal and external stakeholders under the guidance of the Senior Technical Accountant and the Senior Manager Department Reporting and AccountingAssist as directed with the preparation of DJSIR's annual and monthly financial statements and reportsContribute to increasing the effectiveness, efficiency and financial management capability of the branch and DepartmentThe Team The position of Project Officer forms a part of the Corporate Services Group and Finance, Investment and Procurement Branch. This Branch supports best practice resource allocation, budget and financial management and procurement across the department. It does this through the provision of strategic advice to the senior Executive and Ministers, development and implementation of frameworks, policies, systems and internal controls in accordance with the Financial Management Act 1994, other relevant legislation, accounting standards and Department of Treasury and Finance and Victorian Government Purchasing Board requirements.
