Primary Objective: The Skills unit is responsible for designing, managing, and implementing programs and initiatives to grow a capable and skilled workforce and support economic growth.
The Project Officer will support the Skills Initiatives team in the development, management, delivery, and evaluation of Vocational Education and Training (VET) grant programs and initiatives that meet skills needs and improve employment outcomes of Northern Territory industry, business, and individuals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Research and develop tailored skilling programs in response to industry and community needs to improve employment outcomes.Manage skilling programs and contracts that allocate funds to support the achievement of Northern Territory skilling priorities and objectives.Provide accurate information and advice to stakeholders, including Registered Training Organisations and industry organisations to ensure successful initiative outcomes.Monitor and audit the performance of providers against program objectives and outcomes to ensure compliance and delivery.Develop and maintain effective collaborative stakeholder relationships and networks with relevant peers, industry, and government agencies.Evaluate VET data to measure program achievements against defined outcomes and provide aggregated and individual reporting to government and industry on a regular and ad hoc basis as required. Selection Criteria: Essential:Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to successfully convey messaging to a diverse range of stakeholders.Well-developed ability to manage multiple projects and priorities for a range of stakeholders, with proven self-motivation and proactivity.Knowledge and experience in an environment in which VET operates.Demonstrated grant or program monitoring, reporting, and assessment expertise.High-level organisational and negotiation skills with an ability to raise risks and challenges. Desirable:An understanding of NT Government record-keeping legislation, policies, and procedures.
