The Role
The Australian War Memorial is undertaking a major redevelopment from 2019-2028 that will significantly increase exhibition and public program space in order to more substantially tell the stories of current and recent conflicts, operations, peacekeeping, and humanitarian missions. Working on this exciting project is an opportunity to be involved in a world class museum development at Australia's number one tourist destination.
The Project Officer (Construction Team) will provide thorough administrative and project support services to the Construction Team. Routine functions will include calendar management, meeting schedules, preparation of Agendas and Papers, secretariat support, the preparation of routine correspondence and reports, developing and maintaining internal office systems and procedures, and undertaking simple research and analysis tasks.
The role is part of the Integrated Management Team reporting to the Senior Project Co-ordinator and working to the Construction Operations Manager and other senior staff as required and relevant to priorities.
Core Responsibilities Provide administrative and office support services to the Construction Team including calendar management, meeting schedules, booking rooms/venues as required, preparing routine correspondence, undertaking various administrative projects, secretariat, report and minute taking. Assisting Project Managers in drafting or responding to project reporting including project status papers, minutes and statistical reporting such as safety and project finalisation. Contributing to communication activities including internal/external newsletters, regular intranet updates and communication of Project activities and works through internal mechanisms such as a 'Three Week Look Ahead' schedule and integration of same with wider Memorial business such as school and VIP visits, ceremonies, maintenance and cleaning activities. Utilise SharePoint and other systems for data entry of corporate information and statistics including Microsoft Office. Abide by and further the principles and practices of Work Health and Safety as outlined in the WHS Act, taking reasonable care for their own health and safety and ensuring that their acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons.
