As a Project Officer (Gaps Management) for the National Fire Ant Eradication Program, you will work with passion and purpose towards the realisation of our vision of a fire ant free Australia by 2032.
You will monitor and manage gaps to ensure the NFAEP team delivers on key priorities, including maintaining data inputs using approved data management systems.
About the roleAs our Project Officer (Gaps Management), you will:
Assist in the preparation, analysis and provision of data to contribute to policy/discussion documents, submissions, reports and correspondence for the National Fire Ant Eradication Program team, particularly relating to gaps in eradication activities.Facilitate effective consultation, liaison, communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective treatment of gaps in the eradication treatment area within prescribed timeframes.Undertake research tasks, data analysis and project work to understand trends and issues that present a risk to the program's eradication objectives and work effectively in a team environment to provide quality advice and recommendations of a high standard to inform high level decisions using a holistic and risk-based approach.Monitor and manage gaps to ensure the NFAEP team delivers on key priorities, including maintaining data inputs using approved data management systems.Contribute to the development of resources that assist in undertaking gap related work tasks.Support management in delivering on the priorities of the NFAEP including arranging, participating in and providing secretariat support for NFAEP meetings; and other relevant Program tasks that arise.Develop and maintain effective relationships, networks and partnerships within BQ, DAF and stakeholders, to facilitate effective management of gaps in eradication activities, including presenting on gaps-related topics when required.You may also havePractical experience in data or project management, and qualifications in a field such as biosecurity will be favourably regarded.
Knowledge of ArcGIS or other GIS software is highly desirable.
An understanding of biosecurity response activities and the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements and/or experience in applying your capabilities in a response environment will be highly regarded.
