Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is the Native Title representative group for the Nyiyaparli People with approximately 400 current members.
The Nyiyaparli People are the Traditional Owners of approximately 36,684 square kilometres of land and waters in the east Pilbara region, the Aboriginal communities of Jigalong and Parnpajinya, several pastoral leases and significant mining operations. Locations within the Determination Area are places of particular significance to the Nyiyaparli People, including ceremonial sites, songlines, permanent pools and natural resources.

About the Role:
Based in South Hedland (with some flexibility of location), this role plays an important part within the Native Title team and will support the Environment and Stakeholder Engagement Manager by facilitating engagements and discussions between Nyiyaparli representatives and relevant stakeholders in relation to environmental activities within the determination area.
This role will also develop and implement plans and projects for the management and protection of environmental and social values across the Nyiyaparli determination and be responsible for coordinating the participation of Nyiyaparli representatives in environmental survey and monitoring engagements.
Key Accountabilities
Review projects to ensure environmental engagements adequately address the purpose and scope for the proposed activities
Communicate with survey participants regarding logistical arrangements for environmental engagements.
Prepare and monitor budgets for environmental engagements, submitting all costs as per KNAC procedures.
Facilitate group discussions on social surrounds surveys and ensure that Traditional Owner concerns are adequately considered in relation to mine project designs.
Ensure timesheets for environmental engagements participants are completed and forwarded as per procedure.
Evaluate and present data and results from engagements.
Assist with project management and delivery of outcomes.
Maintain the action registers based from social surrounds engagements and support completion/compliance.
Ensure work health and safety requirements are adhered to.
Communicates the importance of respecting Cultural protocols.
About You
Tertiary qualification (minimum Bachelor's degree) in environmental science, anthropology, or similar;
Familiarity with Commonwealth and Western Australian environment, heritage, mining and native title legislation;
Highly developed written and oral communication skills with good attention to detail and the capacity for original and strategic thought;
Demonstrated project management and organisational skills;
Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with various key stakeholders, preferably including Aboriginal People, and the ability to facilitate consultation forums;
High level time management and organisational skills;
Ability to work autonomously, setting own initiative, and within teams;
Ability to travel in regional and remote areas of the Pilbara as required;
Current Driver's license;
National Police Check
Experience working within or knowledge of Aboriginal Corporations/PBC's;
Previous experience working in the Pilbara;
Possess or ability to obtain:
First Aid/CPR Certification
4WD competency certification
