About the Opportunity The Project Officer - Energy Futures will support the delivery of Regional Economic Futures Fund (REFF) project.
The project focus on supporting the Western Downs communities to seize the industry development opportunities presented by global decarbonisation in the pursuit of a diverse economy and strong economic growth for the region.
This position is fixed term until 3 April 2026.
This position can be based at any of our major regional centres (Dalby/Chinchilla/Miles/Tara/Wandoan).
You will: Advocate for renewable energy policies and initiatives that benefit the Western Downs region, ensuring stakeholders are well-informed and supportive.
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear, consistent, and transparent communication throughout the term of the project.
Develop detailed project plans, outlining objectives, timelines, resources, and key milestones for the energy futures initiatives.
Manage, organise, coordinate, and oversee the execution of project activities, ensuring they are designed with mutually reinforcing outcomes for all stakeholders, and completed on time within scope and within budget.
Guide and enable partnership projects of strategic relevance with attention to outcomes reporting and monitoring, evaluation, learning, and continuous improvement.
This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.
About yourself A person in this position will need a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Policy, Business Administration or a related field.
Stakeholder Relationship Management, Project Management qualification or similar.
Relevant experience in relation to project management, stakeholder engagement, or a related role, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
Renewable energy, coexistence, or energy systems experience Mandatory Vaccinations (or a valid and verifiable contraindication) are to be evidenced when requested by Council.
