About the role The Project Officer – Resilience is responsible for supporting and implementing targeted support to individuals, households, and communities to ensure they are strong, resilient, and capable of anticipating, responding to, and recovering well from heatwaves.
The Project Officer both delivers services directly and works with the project team and volunteer workforce to achieve service outcomes.This role also works at a state or territory sector level, with guidance from the national program lead, to increase knowledge and understanding of climate-related disaster impacts, the importance of preparedness and resilience measures.
What you will bring Sound knowledge of contemporary project management and the ability to work within all stages of a project life cycle within clear objectives and budget constraints.Ability to work under general direction from senior employees to support teams and people from diverse backgrounds and contribute to a collaborative working environment.Demonstrated skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning and organising own work, and delivering results.Sound technical knowledge and understanding of emergency management concepts, principles and arrangements as they apply to the needs of people before, during and after disasters.A current Working With Children's Check.Why work with us?Work for purpose, knowing that the work you do enables Red Cross to support and empower people and communities in times of vulnerability.
