Project Officer, Communities For ChildrenThe Smith Family is a national children's education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.
Help young Australians to improve their long-term educational outcomesTemporary full-time position until the end of June 2026Based in Katherine, NTAbout the role We are seeking a Project Officer, Communities for Children to support the project manager, project committee, community stakeholders, and partners in building community capacity.
Reporting to the Project Manager - Communities for Children Facilitating Partner (CfC FP) and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, you will:
Community Partner support: support project planning, record keeping, and build capacity.Data coordination and reporting: support strategic planning, community partners, collate and interpret data.Community Liaison: build relationships, networking, support and participate in community events, organise and provide administrative support for meetings.CfC FP Activities: support and promote Katherine Region CfC FP.About you As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
Tertiary qualification or equivalent in Social Science, Humanities or equivalent work experience.Ability to work flexibly in a changing environment.Knowledge of the child, family, and community services sector along with knowledge of Katherine and the Big Rivers region.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.Full current Driver's Licence or an ability to obtain one prior to commencement.Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check.Employees are at the centre of The Smith Family's values and operations.
