As a Project Officer , you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of a wide range of projects, from minor works, relocations, refurbishments to infrastructure initiatives, across all Curtin campuses within Western Australia.
Your construction and project management expertise will help ensure our spaces are not only functional but also aligned with safety, compliance, and sustainability standards.
In this role, you will coordinate and oversee multiple diverse and varied projects within the construction space.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer, architect, or facilities manager early in their career, with a passion and an understanding of construction contractor management, site logistics and risk management.
You'll need to be a skilled communicator, able to engage with stakeholders, external contractors, and project leads, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities Project Coordination: Lead and facilitate the delivery of various small and low to medium risk projects, ensuring they are completed within the scope, timeline, and budget.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the liaison between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and seamless project delivery.
Risk Management: Identify and manage risks associated with projects, taking proactive steps to mitigate impacts.
Project Documentation: Develop tender documentation, project delivery documentation, and reports, ensuring all relevant data is accurate and comprehensive.
Progress Monitoring: Track and report on project milestones, schedules, and performance indicators to ensure timely completion.
Contractor Management: Oversee external contractors engaged for minor works and trades, ensuring compliance with university standards.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all projects meet statutory, regulatory, and safety requirements within the building and construction industry.
We are looking for a proactive and resourceful individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.
To be successful, you will possess: Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience in coordinating projects within the building and construction industry.
Technical Competence: Knowledge of statutory and compliance requirements for the construction industry, alongside proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office, and relevant project management software.
Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to liaise with diverse stakeholders and produce clear, concise reports.
Organisational Prowess: Excellent time management, multitasking, and organisational skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Team Collaboration: A collaborative mindset, with the ability to contribute positively to a supportive and inclusive team environment.
Work Requirements A current White Card.
A valid C Class Driver's Licence (or equivalent).
Must have current work rights in Australia matching the tenure of the role.
