Project Officer - Administrative Support Services Location: Newcastle NSW 2302 Employment type: Ongoing, Full-time (1 vacancy) Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, $106,025 to $117,363 p.a. plus employers' contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role The NSW Government is determined to make NSW a place where everyone has access to safe and secure housing, and where experiences of homelessness are rare, brief, and non-recurring.
Homes NSW is a division of the Department of Communities and Justice. It brings together the housing and homelessness functions of the Department of Communities and Justice, the NSW Land and Housing Corporation, Aboriginal Housing Office, and key worker housing functions from across government all under one roof.
We have an opening for a Project Support Officer to join our Housing Portfolio Assets Management team. This position involves providing a range of administrative and support services, including human resource functions and financial, and offering project support across various teams.
The main objective of this role is to offer high-quality executive, project, and administrative support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Unit.
What you'll do Assist the Business Manager with human resources, financial, and executive administration tasks, including team management. Provide executive and secretarial support, including coordinating appointments, meetings, travel, conferences, and seminars. Exercise discretion, initiative, and confidentiality to optimise the Manager's time and support Business Unit objectives. Coordinate administrative tasks throughout the employment lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, and performance review scheduling. Prepare a range of correspondence, including, registers, reports, and spreadsheets, to support Administrative Supports Services Unit needs. Review and track incoming correspondence such as Briefing Notes and Ombudsman Enquiries, determine appropriate actions, and escalate when necessary. Update and maintain records and databases, ensuring information is accurate, stored correctly, and accessible in consultation with administrative support services staff. Monitor and evaluate the performance of administration and project services, identifying areas for improvement and coordinating approved actions to enhance efficiency. Contribute to various projects to support the achievement of the organization's strategic and operational objectives. What we're looking for Proven experience in delivering high-quality business support services with a professional and client-focussed approach. Strong understanding of corporate services, office systems, procedures, and methods, including human resources, procurement and finance policies and practices. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including word processors, spreadsheets, project management tools and record management Systems.
