We strongly encourage applicants from key communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTIQA+ people, and people living with disabilities.The Role:Provide leadership and coordination of projects, programs, innovation and research activities designed to improve nursing engagement and performance and standards of patient/client care in the North West region of Tasmania.Provide support and assistance to the Executive Director of Nursing/Midwifery - North West (EDONM) and the North West Nursing Midwifery Executive in the review and development of North West Nursing Division strategic direction, policies and protocols.Work collaboratively and innovatively with the Nursing Director – Excellence in Care and Culture (ND ECC) to build on workforce reputation, engagement, recognition and service innovation.Identify emerging trends and development opportunities within practice areas.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The Team:Working with like-minded nursing and midwifery professionals, the Project Nurse – Strategic Support and Innovation will progress the strategic direction and priorities of the Nursing Division of the North West. As part of the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Office, and working collaboratively with the Hospitals North West Executive leadership team, this role has a direct and significant impact on Hospitals and Primary Care North West outcomes.Why Tasmania:The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. It also means embracing a lifestyle where you can enjoy extraordinary experiences outside of work while making a significant impact on the community during work.Details of appointment:Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76hours per fortnight, commencing from 2 December 2024.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicantApplicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Salary:$111,506 to $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annumPaymentof $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification typeBenefit available to eligible candidates:Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees.Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.
