What to Expect Due to continued growth in our Utility Scale Energy business, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to help deliver a large pipeline of Projects, both in Queensland and around the wider APAC region.
The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the safe and compliant engineering, design, construction and commissioning of Utility scale storage projects assigned to them within Tesla deployment portfolio within time, quality and cost constraints, including a high-quality hand over to the Tesla Service team.
The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience managing energy infrastructure projects; demonstrates initiative, clear-headed problem solving, and mastery of the tactical detail for each project.
Finally, you'll bring high energy and an optimistic approach towards driving each project to completion, within a dynamic team and business environment.
What You'll Do Responsible for project ownership and execution, which requires understanding/managing the scope and schedule and keeping all parties in sync.
Overall management of EPC sub-contractors for all phases of construction of projects including design, construction, commissioning and completion Understand and manage the grid connection agreement during construction and testing phases Interface with and manage internal and external stakeholders, from contracting stage through execution and handover to Service Identify gaps in scope and responsibility to ensure project success.
This requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering, construction, and permitting concepts and rules of conduct Where relevant, support the finance team and supply information to ensure Tesla's overall compliance with the internal agreements and targets Ensure all works of Tesla employees and contractors are carried out in a safe, high quality, efficient manner in the spirit of continuous improvement Adhere to contractual conditions to ensure compliance and Tesla's subsequent compliance with upstream agreements Prepare regular reports on project status and risk What You'll Bring Bachelor in Engineering (Civil or Electrical Preferred) 5+ years of end to end project management experience Experience delivering registered generators in the NEM Experience in renewables desirable PMP/PMC certification preferred CAD skills required Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (mostly local travel but occassionally international travel will be required) Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and the bid process Ability to manage field construction activities and labor Basic knowledge of commercial electrical systems Understanding of TNSP and AEMO requirements Ability to manage multiple budgets and schedules Highly motivated self-starter, able to critically think through problems that arise Ability to work cross functionally with engineering, business development, and construction personnel.
