Due to our ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Saunders International team based on site at Altona, Victoria.
Saunders have been awarded the execution phase of several Tank Refurbishment Projects for the Mobil Altona Terminal & the Project Manager's role will be the single point of contact for the client on Project Delivery to the Mechanical Completion stage.
THE ROLE Responsibilities Champion safety, health, and environment by demonstrating a personal commitment to Saunders' Safety, Health and Environment policies to achieve a workplace free from incidents, discrimination, and harassment.Liaise with the client inspection team in developing project scopes of work.Support scoping, costing and field execution of projects.Drive each project to successful completion. Success is defined as completing the project on-time, on-budget and to the required quality, with no safety incidents.Be solution focused. Convert challenges into positive outcomes.Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the customer.Previous experience in managing Tank Construction and Refurbishment projects at Refineries or Terminals.Deliver all works in accordance with the schedule.Have a detailed understanding of upcoming work scopes.Study and know in detail the contents of the following documents:Project contractsProject schedulesProject documents including method statements, execution plans and procedures.Cost estimatesKeep the Site Manager and customer advised of significant problems or events.Monitor compliance with safe working procedures.Seek out innovation and assist with the implementing new or improved methods.Prepare and issue weekly cost reports.Be prepared and punctual for meetings.Submit documentation on time.Raise variations to the contract in accordance with the terms set out in the contract.Raise progress claims to the customer.Maximise the profit of the operation with due regard to safety, quality, and the Company's reputation.Always comply with all aspects of the Saunders Quality policies and procedures.Actively promote and reflect the Saunders Values of Safety, Integrity, Innovation, Teamwork and Leadership. The position is based at a customer facility in Altona, VIC. It includes office and site work. There may be some requirements to attend the Yarraville & Gellibrand sites.
ABOUT YOU: Essential Degree or Trade qualification in engineering, construction, or project management field.A minimum of 8 years Project management experience in Tank Construction and refurbishments.Knowledge of API 653 Standard. Desirable Oil and Gas refinery/Terminal experience.Tank Program Management experience.
