The Project Manager – Space is responsible for the technical and business aspects of KBR space related projects, including staffing, budgeting, planning, risk management and administrative tasks. KBR clients have an increasing requirement to engage with and within the space domain, often supporting concurrent solutions pertaining to the land, maritime, air and cyber domains. The Project Manager – Space will engage with existing clients, senior management, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that in-flight KBR projects are completed on time and on budget. The Project Manager – Space will be expected to have a working knowledge of any number of disparate fields, including rocketry, space-borne C4ISREW and Australian space policy. Additionally, the Project Manager – Space will be expected represent KBR interests in the development of new business opportunities across government, the private sector, academia, and other space-related sectors. This includes representing KBR at key forums and industry engagements across Australia. The Project Manager – Space will work closely with the leadership within the Mission IT and Security Solutions reporting directly to the Senior Program Manager of Space, Cyber and Information Solutions to ensure that customers' requirements are understood by KBR and engage with prospective customers to support growth initiatives. The role requires a high degree of autonomy and a collaborative approach to working in a team to develop solutions that will ultimately promote growth and capability development in the Mission IT and Security Solutions line of business. Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to: Manage and maintain existing client relationships, including the continued delivery of existing projects Construct project plans with agreed milestones, scope and budget with the client where new work is agreed Recognise and mitigate risks and issues within the project, including task dependencies Liaising with strategy and delivery teams to determine solution execution and implementation approaches, risks and mitigations Assessing the customer Space landscape and developing solutions that improve, enhance and/or optimize current capability Provide updates to stakeholders on solution/product development processes, costs and budgets Continually research current and emerging technologies and policy changes pertaining to the space domain Assess the business impact of technical and policy choices when making recommendations Qualifications, Skills and Experience Experience working with government space products, services and programs Proven work experience as a Project/Program Manager or similar role Strong organizational and leadership skills Highly effective communication skills NV1 Security clearance (with the ability to upgrade to NV2 if required) In-depth understanding of Australia space policy (both from the private sector and government) In-depth understanding of the Australian Space Industry landscape and impacts of international trends Bachelor's degree (or higher) pertaining to space-related fields (information technology or computer science is preferred) Sound knowledge of space operations Benefits of KBR A workplace culture certified as a Great Place To Work (Aus, India, UK & US) Flexible working conditions Competitive salary (including annual reviews) Paid Parental leave Paid Reservist leave Income protection Corporate rewards Salary packaging/Novated leasing Discounted employee stock purchase plans Flu shots, skin checks and private health insurance discounts Career development: Online learning, mentorship and career pathways If you're ready to shape tomorrow, let's get started.
