The focus of the Project Manager (Recovery Planning) is to deliver the Launceston City Flood Recovery Planning Project (the Project). In delivering the Project, the Project Manager will:- develop a framework for Launceston flood recovery that identifies key guidelines and policies required to support recovery, as well as identify agencies responsible for development of those documents including governance requirements to support ongoing implementation of the framework- develop a shared understanding of roles, responsibilities and actions across Tasmanian recovery partners that encourages and fosters a community centred approach to recovery planning tailored to the Project; and- work collaboratively with key stakeholders to research, develop and deliver operational solutions, guidelines, policies and recommendations to support whole of government and community recovery preparedness for a major flood in Launceston.

Period of Appointment 24 Months
Hours per fortnight Up to 73.5 hours - flexible options available.


Duties Establish the Launceston Flood Recovery Planning Advisory Committee to focus on recovery planning across all four recovery domains (social, economic, infrastructure and environment), and provide ongoing executive support for this committee.

Lead and manage all aspects of the Launceston City Flood Recovery Planning Project.

Build and maintain positive consultative relationships with stakeholders and partners to ensure the delivery of agreed project outcomes.

Undertake the development of project plans, work schedules and other related documentation in accordance with contemporary best practice.

Manage and monitor project activity, timing, and progress. Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and strategies, and provide project status and other reports as required.

Direct and supervise staff and consultants as required.

Manage scoping, procurement and contracting of professional services from external consultants and contractors in accordance with appropriate frameworks.
