A leader in the Korean rail industry, HRC has succeeded in developing high-speed trains and is now establishing its presence in the Australian market.Currently, the Australian operation of HRC is working on two major projects:The New Intercity Fleet (NIF) Project - a joint venture between HRC, UGL and MEA, delivering a fleet of new intercity trains for operation in the NSW electrified rail network.The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) - a project commissioning, designing and constructing a new manufacturing facility in Torbanlea Qld and a new maintenance facility in Ormeau Qld.Combined local and international design teams and suppliers will work together to ensure the delivery of manufacturing requirements and associated documentation to ensure that train sets locally manufactured in Australia meet the design, compliance, manufacturability, reliability, maintainability, and safety specifications for the trains' operational life for a minimum of at least 35 years.The Project Manager will oversee the timely delivery of all project deliverables across commercial, financial, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing functions. The role involves ensuring the project team is motivated, that rolling stock delivery aligns with engineering requirements, and collaborating with the HQ Project Team, Head Contractor, and suppliers.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management of the commercial, financial, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing departments.Manage project interfaces and commercial matters of the Rolling Stock Subcontract and Joint Venture.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to document and scope project deliverables, goals, risks, success measures, and estimate resources needed.As the lead role, the Project Manager is directly responsible for:the project remaining in the contractual scope and meeting budgetary and scheduling milestones and contractual quality requirements.leading and directing project functions in accordance with the agreed actions.the development of contract variations for the project, collaborating with other functions, subcontracts, and partners as applicable.preparing and submitting project payment claims, bonding arrangements, insurances, and ensuring supporting documentation is correct.development, updating, and finalisation of contractual claims for ongoing project activities.managing commercial agreements for commercial issues of the project.reviewing, assessing, and mitigating contractual and commercial risks for the project.preparation and management of consultancy, sub-contract, and project-related agreements.review commercial and financial performance of the project.coordinating bond releases through finance.ensuring appropriate insurance cover and certificates of currency for the project.producing project status reports and updates in accordance with contractual requirements.Qualifications, Experience and Skills RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or Science.Previous experience in a Project Manager role, preferably in the functions of project, technical, quality, or manufacturing.Minimum five (5) years' experience in Project Management and complex projects in the transport industry.Demonstrated experience negotiating with customers, contractors, and vendor contracts.Ability to establish effective working relationships.Customer-focused, team-oriented, and results-driven.Demonstrated understanding of the interdependencies between project management, technology, operations, and business needs.Ability to speak and understand the Korean language.
