As the Project Manager, Infrastructure, you are accountable for the successful delivery of projects involving the construction and renovation of large Healthcare facilities ($50 million or more). You are a critical resource, ensuring the complex projects you manage adhere to required scope, quality, schedule, and budget.The expertise you provide begins early in the design and tendering stages, requires rigorous attention throughout the construction phase, and continues right through to the end of the warranty phase.The Project Manager reports to the Project Director. This position will have matrix-reporting for many functions delivered by other departments and/or organizations.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering institution with a minimum of six (6) years' experience managing the construction of large complex buildings, preferably in the field of Healthcare. You must also be (or meet the requirements to be) actively registered as a Full Member (P.Eng) with Engineers Nova Scotia (ENS). Or an Architecture degree from an accredited architecture institution with a minimum of eight (8) years' experience managing the construction of large complex buildings, preferably, in the field of Healthcare. You must also be (or meet the requirements to be) actively registered as a Full Member (Architect) with Nova Scotia Association of Architects (NSAA) or acceptable equivalent and relevant experience deemed suitable by the employer or equivalency of education and experience.A strong technical background and a firm understanding of the building construction industry and engineering principles; experience in managing quality, finances and schedules of projects, and effective skills in risk management are required.Extensive experience in planning and managing various phases of Real Property healthcare projects with challenging degrees of complexity and magnitude, including buildings, and/or fit-up of construction projects with a value in excess of $100 Million would be considered an asset.Travel within the province is a component of this position. As such, you must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel.ResponsibilitiesManaging contracts within NS Healthcare Infrastructure Projects Division with contractors and consultants on these projects.Leading your project team of professional designers, builders, inspectors, and other key project members, in resolving issues and removing roadblocks.Identifying, analyzing and mitigating project risks.Ensuring safety is of top priority and work is carried out in accordance with the OHS Act and Regulations, as well as NS Government standards and polices.Providing a smooth transition to end users by ensuring the building is ready for occupancy, with no outstanding deficiencies.Act as the key point of contact who keeps Senior and Financial Managers and the stakeholder departments advised of the status of the projects.As a key member of Healthcare NS Infrastructure Projects Division , you provide strong leadership qualities as you motivate your building construction team to meet all challenges that arise throughout the life of the project.
