The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) was established by the Northern Territory Government in 2016.
The agency brings together many key functions that drive land use, infrastructure and transport.
This includes the development, planning and construction and maintenance of government infrastructure and roads, and transport safety, policy, strategy and compliance.
This position is responsible for providing high-level specialist advice by managing the delivery of a wide range of construction projects on the Capital Works, Minor New Works, Repairs and Maintenance, and Urgent Minor Repair programs for various client agencies in the region.
The Project Manager duties include, but are not limited to: Contributing to the development of clients building programs by developing scope and cost estimates for future projects under consideration by clients.
Planning, investigating, project design, procurement and documentation, project administration and financial management of projects.
Ensuring projects meet the requirements of the NT Building Act, Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards as applied in the NT.
Deliver assigned Capital Works, Minor New Works and Repairs and Maintenance projects in the region, ensuring projects meet the client's requirements in relation to time, cost and quality in accordance with briefs provided by Client Departments.
The successful applicant for this role will have: A relevant qualification awarded by an Australian institution, or equivalent; or relevant experience in a field of technical work closely related to the duties of the vacancy.
High-level written and oral communications skills.
High-level knowledge of building industry design, construction, repairs and maintenance management techniques.
Demonstrated ability to prepare documentation for design, procurement, and project and contract management.
High level of current knowledge and expertise in project management together with a high level of working knowledge of the WHS Regulations, NT Building Act, Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards as applied in the NT.
Well-developed information technology skills including word processing and spreadsheet software as well as project management and design tools.
An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
Current Driver's Licence or have the ability to obtain.
