Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Western Operations has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team. This role will see you lead the planning, scoping, procurement and delivery of information and technology, digital, and business transformation projects in this complex and unique organisation. This is a major time of change for this long-established organisation and this position will play a key role in the execution of the organisation's strategy.
About you Demonstrated experience leading technology projects and project delivery functions  Strong stakeholder and customer relationship experience with a proven ability to encourage change, clarity on roles and responsibilities. Highly developed project and contract management skills and experience with proven ability to manage and meet project outcomes on time, on budget and to expected standards. Experience in leading teams and managing resources. Strong experience in strategic planning, change management and system development. Tertiary business or other relevant qualifications. Project management methodology and framework certifications, for example including Prince2, PMBOK, MSP or other like certifications. Advanced Microsoft Office skills. About the role Lead activities such as project planning, scoping, development, business case preparation, project and resource coordination, project management, financial management, procurement and contracts management, vendor management, risks and issues management, change management and business analysis. Ensure successful delivery of projects on time, on budget and to expected business outcomes and standards. Lead development of project management documents.  Lead and promote project management strategies, methodologies and processes. Assess technical risks and converse with relevant parties.  Identify, manage and report on project health. Ensure implementation of appropriate project governance and oversight. Ensure compliance with program and project management governance, frameworks, policies, processes, and procedures. Provide effective leadership, mentorship and support to members of the Project Team.  Support others in delivering organisational outcomes and optimising performance as appropriate.  Full-time role, initially for six months with possibility of extension Salary packaging - up to $15,900 per annum for everyday expenses and up to $2,650 per annum on meals and entertainment expenses Novated Lease options  Hybrid work environment and flexible hours (work from home options available) Jandakot based office  Free parking Purpose-led workplace culture of teamwork and collaboration About Us The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe. Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA. A further 10,000 appointments are provided in primary healthcare clinics in remote communities, including GP, nurse, dental and mental health care. RFDS crews are committed to providing the finest care to the furthest corners of the State, using the highest standards of clinical care, aviation safety and technology to make a difference to people living and working across WA – the largest and most remote health jurisdiction in the world.
The RFDS in WA operates five bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra. Our 24/7 operations centre at Jandakot Airport coordinates complex logistics for patient retrievals and clinics across the State. We work in partnership with government, business and the community, and are proud to work on Country with Aboriginal medical services and many local service providers.
In 2024, the RFDS is launching a new five-year strategy 'Above and Beyond', which will mark an important new chapter in the long Flying Doctor history. The strategy will include a focus on expanding remote health clinics in some of WA's most vulnerable communities, expanding our profit-for-purpose services, strengthening our workforce, harnessing technology and addressing our environmental sustainability.
