Position: Project Manager - Residential Land Development

Overview:
JWESS Civil Construction and Excavation is a small family-owned business. We are seeking a qualified Project Manager with extensive experience in residential land development to join and help build our team for a large contract we have secured.
In this key role, you will report directly to the Company Director and support the Development team to ensure the successful delivery of construction programs to high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: Manage principal and subcontractor contracts effectively. Oversee the construction works program to ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards. Negotiate agreements with local and state authorities to minimise costs. Provide direction to team members and lead site construction and consultant meetings, ensuring follow-up on action items. Assess and monitor project cost forecasts for monthly feasibility updates. Manage contracts and variations, collaborating with the Accounts Payable team to stay within budget. Ensure onboarding of all principal contractors and conduct site inspections in compliance with WHSE requirements. Report all incidents and near misses internally. Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports as needed. Skills and Experience: Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Comprehensive knowledge of the property industry, especially in subdivisions and major council infrastructure. Familiarity with residential property legislation and compliance requirements. Understanding of design and construction approval processes. Proven experience in managing construction delivery for residential subdivisions. Experience leading multidisciplinary consulting teams. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to provide clear direction to team members. Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Project.
