Our Sydney-based company provides a wide range of services, including site development, stormwater management, water main and sewer system installation, culvert remediation and rehabilitation, and large-scale excavation earthworks.
We are committed to delivering high-quality projects with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs a Project Manager at Ardee Civil, you will be responsible for the successful leadership of civil projects, with a focus on Sydney Water and utility-related works.
Your key responsibilities will include:Oversee and manage all aspects of civil construction projects, particularly Sydney Water-related projects, from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with Sydney Water standards and project-specific requirements.Lead project planning efforts for sewer, water, and stormwater projects, collaborating closely with Water Services Coordinators (WSCs) to ensure regulatory requirements are met.Develop and manage project schedules and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to meet key project milestones.Client & Stakeholder Management:Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including Sydney Water, Water Services Coordinators, and other utility authorities, ensuring smooth communication and alignment on project expectations.Coordinate with Sydney Water, WSCs, and other utility providers to ensure that all work is executed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations, including water main, sewer system installations, and major connection requests.Lead client meetings, providing detailed progress updates and ensuring that all stakeholders are kept informed of project developments.Team Leadership & Engineering Management:Manage and mentor a team of engineers, site supervisors, and technical staff, providing leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.Work closely with engineers to review designs, technical drawings, and methodologies for compliance with Sydney Water and other utility standards.Allocate tasks to engineering teams and monitor performance, ensuring that all work is completed on time and to required standards.Administer contracts, including those specific to Sydney Water and other utility projects, and manage claims in alignment with regulatory and contractual requirements.Monitor project budgets and cost controls, ensuring financial performance is on track and aligned with the project goals, particularly in relation to utility coordination and approvals.Manage variations, prepare submissions for additional works, and ensure that all financial and contract documentation is up to date.Utility Coordination & Risk Management:Coordinate with utility providers to ensure that project activities, such as Dial Before You Dig applications and service location bookings, are completed prior to construction.Proactively manage risks associated with working near critical utilities like high-pressure gas lines, transmission cables, and oil lines, ensuring that all work is completed with necessary spotters and safeguards in place.Oversee quality control and compliance with Sydney Water standards, WHS regulations, and environmental requirements throughout the project.Reporting & Performance Tracking:Provide regular progress reports to senior management, Sydney Water, and other stakeholders, detailing key project metrics, risks, and developments.Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned, particularly around utility coordination and project delivery for Sydney Water-related works.To succeed in this role, you will need:A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably in civil engineering projects related to utility and infrastructure sectors, including pump stations and Sydney Water projects.Proven experience managing civil engineering projects, particularly with Sydney Water, Water Services Coordinators (WSCs), and other utility providers.Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and technical staff.Expertise in managing projects that involve Sydney Water standards, contract administration, and financial oversight.Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to manage clients, utility providers, and other key stakeholders effectively.Comprehensive understanding of WHS, quality management, and regulatory requirements in civil construction, particularly in the utility and infrastructure sector.What's on Offer:Competitive salary package.Opportunities for career growth and development.Friendly, supportive, and inclusive work environment.Company vehicle and additional benefits.How to Apply:If you're a results-driven professional with a passion for managing high-impact projects in the utility sector, especially those involving Sydney Water and Water Services Coordinators, we want to hear from you.
