Joining us means contributing to a team committed to enhancing the quality of life for all who live and work in this unique and dynamic district.Your RoleCoorong District Council is looking for a full-time Project Manager based in Tailem Bend, South Australia.Reporting to the Capital Projects Manager, this role is responsible for managing a diverse range of council projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with the community's needs and strategic goals.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Managing Council-funded and externally funded projects to meet organisational objectivesCoordinating project functions such as planning, feasibility analysis, procurement and contractor managementPreparing consultant briefs and developing design scopesEnsuring projects comply with funding agreements and stakeholder requirementsMonitoring and reporting on project progress (including financial updates)Providing technical advice on infrastructure renewal and asset managementConducting compliance and quality inspections to meet infrastructure standardsIdentifying process improvements to enhance customer and stakeholder experiencesEngaging with the community and external partners to promote council initiativesMaintaining safety, quality and environmental standards across all project phasesSupporting the development of long-term asset management strategiesPromoting a positive image of the Council through professional interactionsWhat You'll BringTo qualify, you will need a minimum of 3-5 years experience in project management and/or civil construction practices along with a Construction Induction Safety certificate (White Card) or the willingness to obtain it. While not essential, a tertiary qualification in project management, civil engineering, or a related field will be highly regarded.Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:Proven experience in liaising with and advising stakeholders on significant projectsComprehensive understanding of project management principles and asset management practicesKnowledge of technical standards, procurement processes and local government policiesFamiliarity with statutory regulations and trends impacting local governmentProficiency in IT systems and applications relevant to project managementAs our ideal candidate, you will possess strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills that will help you deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
