About the role
As a Project Manager with TAFE SA, you will be pivotal in leading and managing high-impact projects for the Centre of Excellence in Early Childhood Education and Care within the Academic Development division.
Reporting to the Director of the Centre of Excellence, you will oversee the planning, design, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring all outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with TAFE SA's strategic priorities.
This role requires exceptional organisational and leadership skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, engage with key stakeholders, and manage project resources.
Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day management of projects and teams to achieve strategic outcomes and project success.Oversee the budgeting process, ensuring project resources are managed, monitored, and reported effectively.Build and maintain robust networks and manage sensitive negotiations with stakeholders across government, industry, and the academic community.Lead, mentor, and evaluate project staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.Represent TAFE SA on relevant committees, forums, and working groups to advocate for project initiatives.Continuously assess project scope, milestones, and strategies, adjusting as needed to ensure ongoing relevance and success.Manage the procurement, organisation, and oversight of project assets, infrastructure, and personnel, including contractors.Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project risks effectively.Adhere to TAFE SA's project management standards and contribute to achieving institutional objectives.Key Selection Criteria Proven leadership in managing complex, multi-faceted projects with competing pressures and tight deadlines.Ability to prioritise tasks for a multidisciplinary team, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions under pressure.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to negotiate on complex issues.Experience in strategic project management, including developing and implementing complex strategies, policies, and procedures.Proficiency in modern project and quality management techniques, including performance assessment, project evaluation, and quality assurance.Ability to establish effective networks with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert advice and resolving project-related issues.Qualifications in project management are not essential but highly desirable.Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed.
Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
