Your day in the life of a Project Manager at Optus
Based in the ACT, the prime responsibility of this position is to manage the delivery of Optus Business projects into one or more of Optus' Customers within a complex and changing internal/external business environment.
The Project Manager provides successful delivery of ICS assigned business projects.
This involves status reporting, meeting organisation, document preparation, purchase/service order administration, financials and general administrative functions.
The role is customer facing and the Project Manager is instrumental in forming the customer's impression of the company's capability to deliver.
The successful applicant will be deployed in one of two scenarios: Directly leading projects within Optus Business delivering outcomes to customers, or Supporting a Senior Project Manager/Program Manager on large strategic programs in their own right as a Project Manager.
The key to success for the Client Services team is the provision of full delivery service spanning both the technical, commercial, capital and operational aspects.
Candidates with significant project management and program support experience, as well as a high level of business acumen are encouraged to apply.
The role is tasked with reporting on key project delivery milestones along with financial and customer experience KPIs within the Customer Delivery team.
Strong scope and financial management skills are required to ensure financial budgets are tracked effectively.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in project delivery and program support, managing cross-functional delivery team members within the ICT/telecommunications/financial sectors along with tertiary qualifications in project management/business/IT or engineering.
Superior written communications skills are mandatory for this role in which submissions to executives on project status updates are frequently required.

AGSVA Security Clearance.
Demonstrated analytical planning and forward thinking with the ability to conceptualise and create alternatives.
Demonstrated exceptional leadership skills through high impact influencing and relationship building.
Ability to operate effectively in a variety of different environments and respond appropriately to unexpected circumstances and deal with ambiguity in an appropriate and decisive manner.
Proven track record in supporting a large team.
Excellent administrative skills and business writing skills, coupled with a general understanding of the program life cycle, project documentation, project standards, tools and methodologies.
Excellent oral communication skills by expressing information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information.
