This role requires a suitably qualified and experienced Project Manager to design and deliver commercial projects.
The role is also responsible for ensuring robust governance processes and effective quality management systems.Position summary: The Project Manager reports to and collaborates with the Managing Directors to provide management and supervision of the Roddy Engineering design, oversight and governance of all projects.
The successful applicant will be responsible for estimates, quotation, compliance, workplace health and safety, documentation, budgets, procurement, Quality Management Systems and client liaison.
As a key member of the Management Team, the Project Manager will take a proactive role in the growth and development of Roddy Engineering.Key responsibilities / Scope of works: Design scope of works as required to undertake effective commercial project delivery; Responsible for the design and resourcing of projects based on the scope of works as supplied; Build project estimates and resourcing models to enable successful tendering of works; Working with the Business Manager and Site Supervisors to ensure projects are delivered within scope, on time and on budget; Overall responsibility for feeding back to the Business Manager and Site Supervisors data around budgets and commitments towards estimates in real time; In conjunction with the Management team, establish plans, budgets and result measurements; allocate resources; review progress; make mid-course corrections as required; Oversight and monitoring of operational expenses as well as determining ways to reduce costs while maintaining quality of service; Overall responsibility for procurement in line with budget estimates; Ensure documentation is in line with Quality Management System and Principles; Working closely with managing authorities to ensure operational site compliance, Workplace Health and Safety documentation and compliance; Overall responsibility for documentation and effective document record keeping and management;

Relationships Develop close working relationships with clients, both on site and in relevant client authorities and departments; General responsibility for ensuring exceptional service to clients, emphasising client relationships and work to create profitable growth opportunities; Build company image by collaborating with customers, related organisations and employees, effecting ethical business practices; Encourage and promote a continuous improvement environment; Maintain quality service by establishing and ensuring compliance with Roddy Engineering systems and processes standards; Build and maintain relevant operating processes and practices which drive efficiency and operational compliance; Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; establishing personal networks, benchmarking current and state of the art practices, participating in local trade associations, boards and committees.

Workplace Health and Safety /Quality Work closely with the Management team to ensure all members are aware of safety requirements, both legislative and Roddy Engineering's policies/procedures, to provide a safe workplace for our employees; Ensure and promote a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives; Promote the proactive reporting of workplace hazards identified during work to the appropriate person, following standard operating procedures; Promote adherence to the relevant quality standards; Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice; Ensure the Business Continuity Plan, is current and the Management team understand their responsibilities in the event of an emergency.

Competencies and experience required: Interpersonal Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships Ability to work with teams and lead decision making processes in a team environment Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability High level computer and accounting skills

Management Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with project management; Excellent project management, planning and organisational skills; Strong ability to be adaptable and flexible; Highly motivated, results orientated and driven; Previous experience in budgeting/expense management with a thorough understanding of financial and accounting practices; Demonstrated ability to identify issues and determine solutions through robust problem-solving practices; Excellent computer skills (MS Office); Previous experience in implementing best practice/continuous improvement to drive quality standards; A superior eye for detail and the ability to design and manage complex compliance documentation; Demonstrated superior ability to build rapport with clients, suppliers and colleagues; Previous experience working with safety systems and legislation.
