Are you interested in joining a team that's delivers large scale transmission projects? The Team/ Department: You will be joining Western Power's Network Delivery Team within our Asset Operations Business Unit. Project Managers responsible are for three main activities, managing transmission projects, regular communication with key stakeholders whilst supporting and mentoring your colleagues.
The Network Delivery Team consists of approximately 70 team members, the team members are split into 5 smaller teams who delivery a mix of transmissions and distribution projects. You'll be working in a fairly large team you will get exposure to various projects and team members which is a great way to develop and hone your skills aligned to your professional development goals.
What you will be doing: As a Project Manager you'll be:
Delivering complex transmission projects which is critical to supporting Western Powers strategic objectives Execute all projects according to Western Powers Project Methodology, Standards, Processes and Governance framework Communicate and report the status of projects pro-actively and on an ongoing basis to key stakeholders Identify and actively manage project assumptions, risks, issues and dependencies associated with delivery ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are established and actively managed Provide coaching and mentoring to your colleagues as needed What you will get from the role: Exposure to delivering large scale & complex Transmission projects aligned to Western Power's strategy Opportunities to develop, grow and gain exposure to continue to develop towards your professional development goals Be a part of, and contribute to a collaborative and supportive team Western Power isn't just a workplace; it's a community where innovation thrives, safety is paramount, and support is always at hand. The skills and experience you will have: We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
Trade / Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or Construction or at least 8 to 10 years demonstrable industry experience Industry accreditation in project management, RegPM / PMI In addition to having at least 3 to 4 years' demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects, a further 5 years extensive expertise in delivering complex programs / projects utilising industry standard project methodology such as PMBOK or Prince 2. Ability to build strong working relationships with project stakeholders and Senior leaders through superior communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated and the ability to manage time and prioritise effort Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing, motivating and changing behaviour Extensive financial acumen including the ability to interpret financial data and reports. Utilise project knowledge to accurately budget and forecast expenditure and productivity Highly developed negotiation and conflict management skills.
