About the Unit Infrastructure and Facilities Services (IFS) is responsible for the planning, development and operation of the University's physical infrastructure and estate. This includes both operational services delivery and the management and upkeep of facilities to support the strategic objectives of the University to meet the needs of students, staff and the University community.
IFS delivers comprehensive facilities management to support the teaching and research goals of the University. With a team of over 60 staff, IFS provides a diverse range of services.
Be challenged and imagine with us The Project Manager in the Asset Improvement team manages asset replacement and minor construction projects in accordance with the Strategic Asset Management Plan. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating project teams and planning, designing and delivering multiple minor capital works and asset replacement projects in accordance with the IFS project governance framework. We are looking for a candidate with strong experience working with and managing consultants and external stakeholders.
How will you inspire us? The successful applicant will have:
A degree with a least four years subsequent relevant experience in the areas of project management, civil, mechanical or electrical engineering, construction or maintenance management; or extensive experience and management expertise in the above fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Ability to generate a strong sense of team spirit, co-operation and collaboration within and across teams. Proven project management experience in a commercially focussed and complex environment where highly visible asset replacement and minor construction projects are delivered. Demonstrated facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills with the capacity to think creatively and manage change while effectively managing stakeholder expectations, issues and risks. Sound financial management skills including value management, the ability to manage project budgets and associated financial management systems. Demonstrated experience in the management of design consultants and the design process to achieve enhanced project outcomes in accordance with project management methodologies. Demonstrated experience in scope development, procurement process and the preparation and administration of construction contracts; specifically the NSW Government GC21 contract suite and systems for major and minor construction works.
