Excellent long-term Public Sector opportunity for a building services experienced Project Manager This busy custodian organisation requires additional expertise for their Capital Works (principally building projects) programme. Based in the CBD you will report to the Senior Project Manager and act as the client's representative in the upgrade and delivery of community building projects to completion. You will provide project management at a mid-level to effectively manage minor capital work projects in particular building property assets throughout all project phases eg. community centres including roof upgrades, plant and services upgrades, minor refurbishments and facility upgrades. As such you will have a relevant building, asset management, or engineering services experience and qualifications. You will have proven experience in preparing high quality RFQ & RFT documents for specialist consultants and contractors and have excellent written skills ensuring clear scopes of works are documented and provided to the market. Your duties will include: Condition assessment of existing assets and write briefs. Prepare Request for Tender and Quote documents and coordinate the procurement process. Evaluating tender and quotation submissions. Procure and manage the services of contractors and professional consultants. Measure quantities of work. Investigate and prepare reports on any potential or actual public liability claims. Management of concurrent projects and their delivery. Working knowledge of the BCA & runing multiple projects concurrently. As a successful candidate you will have: Proven experience in project managing medium to high value property upgrades including Lifts, HVAC, fire systems etc. A background and experience in building upgrades and ideally the design and installation of mechanical, electrical, fire and hydraulic services works. Appropriate degree or trade qualification. Thorough knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Issues. High-level written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience with Excel spreadsheets, MS Word databases etc. Excellent organisation skills, the ability to work under pressure, the ability to meet deadlines. You will have a strong client orientation and be highly skilled at establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will bring to the role a proven track record in services project management and have extensive working knowledge of building services and operations within large facilities. Understanding of Government contracts, GC21 etc would be valuable. This role is a contract position paying very good rates of $800-900/day Super for a 40 hour working week. Initially it is for a 12 month contract but will very likely be extended due to a large ongoing workload and possibly be converted to a permanent engagement.
