About the Department The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
It provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria, and leads key cross-sector collaboration.
The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight, and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Victorian School Building Authority The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education.
Established in 2016, it oversees Victoria's largest school building program since the state introduced free public education in the 1870s.
The VSBA upgrades and expands existing schools and plans, designs, and builds new schools to meet enrolment demand.
We also support schools to maintain their buildings and grounds by offering expert advice and coordinating maintenance programs and grants.
About the Division The Asset Management Division helps schools maintain and manage their buildings and grounds and ensures they are more energy efficient.
The Division trains school leaders as facilities managers and supports them to develop school maintenance plans.
They coordinate programs, assessments, and systems to ensure schools are routinely maintained and cleaned.
About the Role The role is located in the Asset Information Management System (AIMS) Unit within the VSBA's School Asset Management Support Branch.
AIMS is a central IT system being used by both VSBA and schools across Victoria and provides a live, single source of asset management information in an accessible format to users.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the AIMS Service Centre and manage stakeholder engagement during the implementation of system upgrades.
Reporting directly to the Director of the School Asset Management Support branch, this role will be crucial in ensuring corporate users are supported throughout the upgrade process, with a focus on delivering projects efficiently and with minimal disruption.
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the AIMS Service Centre, ensuring that system upgrades are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for corporate users, working to understand their needs and ensuring those are addressed throughout the upgrade process.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including AIMS Program team, developers, and business units ensuring that the necessary support and communication are in place to drive successful project outcomes.
Regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and key milestones will be part of your core responsibilities, along with identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance the overall efficiency and user experience within the Service Centre.
This is a fixed term role until 30 June 2025. Attributes The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of dashboard reporting, data analysis, and management practices along with strong communication skills.
