Project Manager

Details of the offer

Overview

Our client - a national industry-services body for a multi-billion dollar industry, one of Australia's largest export industries - has identified a requirement for an experienced Project Manager to join the organisation on a 2-year Fixed Term Contract to help deliver a number of projects.
The projects are primarily business projects rather than IT delivery projects, with the currently scoped work focused on the Research and Development space. In this role, you will be tasked with delivering multiple projects simultaneously, so you'll need to be organised and efficient in your work, as well as comfortable multi-tasking and dealing with complexity.
Working within an established PMO, you will have support and structure around project delivery, but will be expected to be self-sufficient as a Project Manager with the ability to initiate, plan, deliver, close, and evaluate projects effectively. The organisation utilises a range of project delivery methodologies, so exposure to various environments and delivery methodologies (i.e. Prince2, Agile, PMBOK etc.) will be beneficial.
Working Arrangements

This organisation works on a hybrid model, with most employees attending the office 2-3 days per week. These are typically centered around 'Anchor Days' where your peers (in this case, others from the PMO) attend the office on agreed days to ensure there's value in coming in. The organisation's office is located in the CBD of Melbourne, with easy access through public transport.
Contract Details

This role is a 2-year Fixed Term Contract, aligning to the organisation's funding model. At the end of the initial two-year term, further contract extensions and/or permanent employment opportunities may be offered depending on circumstances.
The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
At least 3-5 years' experience as a Project ManagerA strong track record of delivering diverse, business-facing projectsExceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and experience working with stakeholders from various backgroundsHighly developed project governance skills, including financial management, reporting, and documentationIn addition to the above, the organisation places a high level of importance on people that employ a relationship-based approach to their work.
