The Role As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects, specifically in the field of road construction.
You will do this by applying your technical knowledge, leadership, project management experience, and contract administration skills to ensure efficient coordination of key operational activities and resources.
In this hands-on role, you will lead the project team, demonstrating strong people and project management skills to ensure the effective delivery of road infrastructure projects and other critical road construction activities.
With your problem-solving, influencing, and negotiation skills, you will build strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders, effectively addressing day-to-day operational challenges.
As a leader committed to safety, you will promote a zero-harm work environment, contributing to a positive workplace culture and ensuring all activities are conducted safely and in alignment with relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements.
Key Accountabilities Lead the project management of multiple road infrastructure projects or more complex initiatives throughout the project lifecycle, implementing efficient procedures and best practices to meet time, quality, and cost targets.
Apply technical expertise and leadership to coordinate activities, ensuring project objectives are met.
Oversee compliance with operational system procedures to maintain consistent, high-quality project delivery for Transport and Main Roads and other clients.
Ensure team members understand their responsibilities and how they contribute to the organisation's direction.
Plan, assign, supervise, and coordinate the work activities of team members to achieve project goals.
Prepare and manage tenders and estimates to support the business unit in achieving organisational targets.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding transport infrastructure activities.
Determine engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, necessary for temporary works associated with project delivery.
To be successful you will have: A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) Valid Queensland 'C' class driver's licence or equivalent A Diploma in Project Management and accredited Frontline Management qualification is highly desirable.
Experience working on transport projects, ideally in road construction or maintenance industry Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and manage project teams effectively Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders with diverse requirements, needs and aptitudes in a site environment Highly developed written and verbal communication Demonstrated commitment to a positive Health & Safety culture and practice Excellent time management and organisational skills including planning, budgeting, and reporting with an ability to work well under pressure and in a changing environment Experience in contract management, including negotiation, administration, and dispute resolution Willingness and ability to travel/work on projects throughout Queensland Please consider the full position description and tailor your cover letter and resume to outline your suitability.
