Unique opportunity to lead a landmark Building construction project in Gove for a not-for-profit organization Your new company Hays Darwin is proud to partner with the Yothu Yindi Foundation (YYF). The Foundation was established in 1990 to promote Yolngu cultural development with community leaders from five regional clan groups: Gumatj, Rirratjingu, Djapu, Galpu and Wangurri. YYF is a not-for-profit charitable public benevolent institution, with an all-Yolngu Board of Directors. YYF is looking to establish a world-class education hub in Northeast Arnhem Land, the Garma Institute. The Institute will be a hearth for Yolngu cultural knowledge and history. It will offer a Yolngu-centred curriculum across the education lifecycle and will hold archives and sacred artefacts on behalf of 13 clans from the region. The Garma Institute will contribute significantly to the foundations of a Yolngu-led education and employment pipeline. It also has global potential as a leader in Indigenous knowledge recognition and in maintaining ancient Yolngu knowledge systems within the Australian nation. Your new role As the Project Manager, you will lead the full project lifecycle for the construction of a large-scale Education facility in Gove, on behalf of the Foundation. Your role will involve the oversight of construction design, scoping, planning and execution, the consultation with the community representatives, as well as the coordination and management of all project stakeholders. This is a full-time role located in Gove. Your key responsibilities will be: Work with the engaged architect on a thorough analysis of the site, and to align construction with the location characteristics. Liaise with external consultants to facilitate cost analysis and produce the feasibility study. Collaborate closely with the community coordinator and Yolngu community members and facilitate consultation with design team to incorporate cultural knowledge and traditions into the infrastructure design, ensuring it respects and celebrates the cultural significance of the land. Collaborate with stakeholders to secure necessary permits and approvals. Manage all aspects of construction design, scoping, planning, and execution, ensuring that projects are completed with scope, on time, and within budget. Coordinate the procurement process for architect, engineer, and builder tender. Oversee consultants, contractors, and construction teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations. Establish performance outcomes and measures, monitor and report on project progress to the YYF CEO and Board and key stakeholders including funding partners. Build and maintain strong relationships with key infrastructure stakeholders, government bodies, partners and the YYF CEO and Board. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role you will have: Demonstrated experience in a Project Management role for Commercial and/or Government Building projects, including design, construction, and delivery, with a strong focus on quality and efficiency. Qualifications in Architecture, Project Management, Urban Design, Engineering, or a Building Trade. Strong technical knowledge of construction and infrastructure development, including architectural design, engineering principles, and sustainable building practices. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to engage multiple stakeholders. A deep appreciation and respect for Yolngu culture, land, and traditions, with the ability to integrate cultural knowledge into infrastructure design.
