The Project Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the development and the compliant delivery of strategy and performance in alignment with Auto & Generals Group strategy.
Position Accountabilities What You'll Be Doing:
Role And Responsibilities Point of contact between delivery teams and the Elevate PMO, to inform delivery practise, raise risks or issues, or seeking additional supportSupport Elevate PMO Lead with portfolio management activities across funding management, prioritisation, planning and sequencing, delivery management and value realisation.
E.g.
prepare for, host and develop outputs for prioritisation workshops, funding reviews and planning reviewsCollate, review and provide inputs to portfolio management activities, e.g.
collate resource allocation, delivery backlog for prioritisation, schedules, etc.Consult with delivery teams to ensure alignment with delivery framework requirements and provide coaching and support where gaps are identifiedProvide coaching and support on project management practisesIdentify delivery lessons learned, and review and update project management guidelines and templates for adoption across delivery teamsMaintain portfolio management artefacts and tools, e.g.
roadmap, resource allocation register, RAIDAd hoc activities to support Elevate PMO Lead and provide support across other PMO resources The Elevate PMO will specifically have the following core functions and responsibilities: Project governance & process improvement: define, implement and continually refine project management governance frameworks across Auto & General to simplify tasks, streamline workflows, standardise, and enhance overall project management processes.Financial reporting: work with the Finance Function to define and implement financial processes for the Elevate Project including budgeting and business cases (including identifying internal resource redeployment, incremental resource approvals and the use and management of external consultants) and ensure that the Elevate project is budgeted well and stay on budget once they are funded.Portfolio reporting: define and control key performance indicators and build reports that help project teams, executive teams or the Board and its committees see how well the Elevate Project and the respective project management team are performing, and that business case benefits / value drops are being delivered.Quality Assurance - ensure there is a check and challenge occurring over what is being reported from working groups in programs as to whether there is truth in portfolio reporting and that signals are being identified as early as possible to allow rectification.Resource management: work with the Business Owners to ensure appropriate people are at the head of the Elevate Project and underlying workstreams, ensure there are an optimum level of project managers, team members and commitment levels available to take on the Elevate Project and resolve conflicts between business units and projects on prioritisation and effective allocation of resourcing.Risk management: prior to approving any other project being approved and throughout all project deployment, identify assess and with Business Owners manage potential dependencies, risks and implement strategic plans to mitigate them, including noting ability of future projects impact on delivering the Elevate Project.Stakeholder & executive communications: assist Business Owners communicate with external stakeholders (e.g.
APRA) and internal stakeholders (e.g.
Board, Group Exco) at an appropriate level to ensure stakeholders have the requisite knowledge to assess whether Auto & General is achieving goals and meeting expectations in relation to the portfolio of strategic projects, programs, business units, and initiatives.Strategic portfolio management: supervise project portfolio management and performance, overseeing project investments and objectives to ensure project prioritisation aligns with overall business goals and strategic objectives Qualifications and Experience What You'll Bring to the Table: Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or related certifications.Stakeholder Communication: Acting as the point of contact between delivery teams and the PMO, raising risks, issues, and seeking additional support.Portfolio Management Support: Assisting with funding management, prioritisation, planning, and delivery management, including preparing for and facilitating workshops and reviews.Data Collation and Review: Collating and reviewing data for portfolio management activities (e.g., resource allocation, delivery backlogs, schedules).Delivery Framework and Coaching: Ensuring alignment with delivery frameworks and providing coaching and support to address gaps in practices.Project Management Practices: Coaching on project management practices, identifying lessons learned, and updating guidelines/templates.Maintaining Portfolio Artefacts: Maintaining key portfolio tools and artefacts (e.g., roadmap, RAID logs, resource allocation register).Ad Hoc Support: Providing ad hoc support to the EPMO Lead and other EPMO resources as needed.Skills: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and portfolio tools.Key Requirements:Experience: 5+ years in portfolio/project management, supporting PMO functions.Industry: Experience in IT or insurance.
